Description
This artwork embodies the freedom of speech and the power of unity for me. Why? Although it depicts oppression, exclusion, and greed, it reveals something important. The power of art and humor exposes the true nature of an autocratic regime or an abusive relationship. If we see it clearly, we can name it. If we name it, we talk about it. Once the facts are stated, the experiences and feelings of the people can no longer be invalidated. The more people give voice to their oppression and pain, the less room there is for oppressors and abusers. Those power lasts only as long as they believe their victim is completely alone, so there will be no consequences of their actions. If a nation or a person's voice is heard, they have a chance of getting help.
If these thoughts are important to you, show your courage, open-mindedness, and commitment to a good cause by displaying this seagull on your wall. ☺️
